Sports Fans On The Rampage
There are as many fans as there are personalities. There are fans that cheer their teams silently and there are fans that are loud and boisterous. This is due to the excitement and other high emotions that are experienced while watching their favorite team win a game. This is more evident in physical and contact sports which cater to the primitive instincts of man. When the fan's team is losing, they're usually not so loud, and in fact may be the total opposite. Sometimes the disappointment will be such a shock that the silence will be deafening.
The problem with fans is that they cannot seem to watch games and cheer their teams without buzz brought about by alcoholic drinks. This may make the game more enjoyable at the start, but it usually has disastrous effects in the end. It doesn't matter if a fan's team is winning or losing, things are bound to get out of hand. It is too easy for mob mentality to take over with passions running high. The end result is that fans are taken out of the stadiums and are charged with all sorts of violations.
Everything is okay when fans deservedly and expectantly celebrate the victory of their teams especially after winning a championship. Unfortunately, some fans, especially if they've been drinking, will totally lose control if this happens. These are not normally mentally unstable people, either. Many of them are professionals who are just sensitive to the alcohol that they are drinking, as well as all the screaming and yelling around them.
Some fans are truly happy when their team wins the championship and they will celebrate appropriately afterwards. However, the celebration will take a turn for the worse when fans start drinking and become unruly and uncontrollable. People in this frame of mind can be likened to animals let out of their cages. Actually, many of these people are rational and sensible when they are not under the influence of liquor and many are even respected members of society who simply cannot handle their drink. Everything happening all at once just causes certain people to snap, and things can become physical very quickly, sometimes leading to riots. Riots can be extremely dangerous and people can get very seriously hurt, and even killed. The trouble will have a life of its own and will not spare anybody and anything, causing damage and danger to life and limb. The sad part is that if asked the fans will not even be able to either explain or justify what really happened and how a joyous celebration can turn into an ugly and destructive riot. Their behavior bespoke of an uncivilized and primitive society.
Clearly, alcohol is at the bottom of all these, and fans should accept the fact that nothing good will come out of bringing liquor into the games. Alcohol is conceitedly not always the cause of all the evil in a man, but it does play a big part.
