There Is No Time Like Now For A Surf Travel Adventure

by Damian Papworth

Are you sick of surfing the slop at your local beach? Have you just watched a sick video about perfect waves in exotic places like Bali and the Maldives for the hundredth time? Do you want to take your surfing to the next level or do you just want to get away for awhile? If your answer to any of those questions is yes (and it probably is), you are ready for a surf travel adventure.

Ask yourself what is stopping you. Is it really the money? Once you have paid for your airfare, you can live for a few dollars a day and have the best barrels in the world at your doorstep in Bali. Imagine waking up every morning and heading down to Uluwatu for your morning surf instead of to your local break.

If you want to, for a few dollars you can take a boat over to Nusa Lembongan and surf some great waves there and stay in a bungalow practically in the water. Lembongan is a little surf paradise for natural footers, since it is one of the few places in Indonesia that has good rights.

When you choose Bali as your launching pad, you have access to all of the best waves in Indonesia. One of these is among the most classic waves in the world: GLand.

You can get some of the fastest and most powerful waves in the world there and get a barrel for up to two hundred yards. At the end of the day, you have everything you could possibly want right there at your fingertips. Gone are the days when you had to sleep in the jungle with the tigers at GLand.

Or why not take the very ultimate in surfing adventures and charter a boat to take you all the way from Fiji to the Maldives. Nobody is pretending that it will be cheap, but it is doable. What you need to do is convince a bunch of your surfing buddies to pitch in and charter the boat with you. Imagine surfing all those places you have seen on your DVDs plus a bunch of other world class breaks almost nobody has surfed before!

Are you still hesitating? What is it that is stopping you? Do you think you cannot handle the waves? Is it the cost of the trip? Look, you are not going to be young and in peak physical condition forever. Do it now while you can or you might regret it for the rest of your life. You are in for the most incredible adventure you will ever have. Just do it. Take a surf travel vacation now. You will never forget it!
